Greece is one of the birthplaces of theater. From Aeschylus and Euripides to masks, satyr plays and the theater of Dionysus, a wealth of both serious and light entertainment has always had a place on one of the numerous Greek stages.
Somehow, though, Improv Theater had eluded this part of the world. It is just a few years ago that improv training and shows began emerging in the Greek capital, offered by people who had been heavily influenced by Improvised Theater abroad and decided to bring it to their home country. Now, with an ever-growing vibrant community of improvisers, we are ready to host our first International Improv Festival.
Let there be, Mount Olymprov, Greece’s 1st International Improv Theater Festival!
Our goal is to put Greece on the improv world map, while at the same time, to show Greek audiences the tremendous potential of this art form.
We are proud to invite you to be part of this monumental moment. Come write improv history, in Greece, with us.
The team of Mt. Olymprov.
